Technology Research Overview

Advanced telecommunications research is at the core of the GCATT strategy. The research centers that make up GCATT range in focus from core telecommunications technologies, such as wireless, optical, signal and image processing, to cutting-edge applications, such as e-commerce, wearable computing, telemedicine, and enhanced distance learning.

These centers partner with industry through consortium models and directed research programs. In addition, many of the GCATT centers partner with each other to apply the technologies developed or to enhance the applications for use in different areas.
