Bob returned to Scientific-Atlanta, November 1998, after serving as President, CEO of Avex, Inc., an electronic manufacturing company in Huntsville, Alabama.

During his previous six years with Scientific-Atlanta from 1991-1997, Bob held leadership roles in both the Transmission and Subscriber businesses. He is well known to both our customers and internally as a business and technical leader.

Prior to Scientific-Atlanta, Bob was VP/GM of Augat's Interconnection Products Group. Earlier in his career, he was VP/GM of GTE Communication Systems in both their Telephone Switching and Transmission businesses. He spent 11 years at GE in various technical management positions.

In addition to his extensive business experience, Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy and Materials from Carnegie Mellon University and has done graduate work at Penn State in Engineering Mechanics, and at Gannon University in Business Administration Training programs. He also participated in General Electric's General Management Development Program.
