Next Generation Video Communications A
one day symposium presented by
In the early 1990's, Scott Kesapradist researched information technology and operated the information systems at the Center for Technology, Policy, and Industrial Development (CTPID) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Also at MIT, he worked on the Network Multimedia Information System (NMIS) at MIT's Center for Advanced Educational Services. The NMIS project was one of the first projects to have a system that digitized video in MPEG2 format for archiving and network streaming. In 1995, Scott Kesapradist helped create software for the interactive television service at Southern New England Telephone. The system delivered video on demand services over cable system in central Connecticut. A year later, he helped develop one of the first wide-scale deployments of high-speed data services over cable modems at MediaOne/RoadRunner. He also designed and implemented corporate-wide initiatives for providing Internet services such as e-mail, news, web, and directory services aimed specifically for broadband users. Currently, he is in the Cable Systems Engineering group researching methods for transporting video over IP networks at Cisco Systems. |
